RIYADH, Aug 5 — Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Asheikh, welcomed Sri Lankan Ambassador Omar Lebbe Ameer Ajwad and his delegation in Riyadh for talks focused on Islamic cooperation, tolerance, and moderation, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
🤝 Strengthening Islamic Cooperation
During the meeting, both sides discussed a range of topics related to Islamic affairs and the ongoing collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka. The discussions emphasized shared values, religious outreach, and the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting Muslim communities worldwide.
Following the meeting, Ambassador Ameer Ajwad praised Saudi Arabia’s global leadership in promoting Islamic values, tolerance, and peace — particularly in Sri Lanka.
“We take pride in the Kingdom’s remarkable role in promoting the values of tolerance and moderation — a noble mission that truly represents the lofty message of Islam,” said the ambassador.
📖 Appreciation for Islamic Awareness and Education
The ambassador also expressed deep gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their unwavering support to Sri Lanka in multiple sectors, especially in initiatives inspired by Qur’anic teachings.
