Bahrain Reaffirms Support for Palestinian Cause in Farewell Meeting with Israeli Ambassador

 

LONDON, Aug 5Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa has reiterated his country's firm support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the need for a just and lasting resolution during a farewell meeting with outgoing Israeli Ambassador Eitan Naeh on Monday.

The meeting, held at Al-Qudaibiya Palace, also focused on the importance of diplomatic efforts to achieve peace, stability, and development in the region, according to the Bahrain News Agency.

🕊️ Bahrain Calls for Humanitarian Focus and Peaceful Dialogue

Sheikh Salman reaffirmed Bahrain’s “steadfast position” in backing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. He stressed the need for:

  • A just solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict,

  • Continued humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza,

  • De-escalation of violence,

  • Protection of civilians, and

  • The release of all hostages and detainees.

He also praised the efforts of international partners in facilitating the delivery of humanitarian supplies to Gaza.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, and Hamad Al-Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs.

🤝 Diplomatic Relations Since the Abraham Accords

Bahrain and Israel formally established diplomatic ties in September 2020 under the US-brokered Abraham Accords, which also included the UAE, Morocco, and Sudan.

Despite this normalization, Bahrain has consistently voiced its commitment to the Palestinian cause, advocating for peaceful resolutions aligned with international law and human rights principles.
