BURAIDAH — The much-anticipated Buraidah Dates Carnival officially opened on Friday, drawing farmers, traders, and visitors from across the Kingdom to celebrate one of Saudi Arabia’s most valuable agricultural treasures — dates.
🗓️ Festival Runs Until Oct. 9
Organized by the National Center for Palms and Dates in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and under the supervision of the Qassim governorate, the carnival is set to run through Oct. 9, offering weeks of festivities in the heart of Date City, Buraidah.
🍯 100+ Varieties of Dates on Display
More than 100 varieties of dates are being showcased at the event, including the beloved Sukkari, Barhi, and Saqi dates. Farmers and traders are using this platform to connect directly with consumers, wholesalers, and international buyers.

💰 SR3.2 Billion in Sales Last Year
In its previous edition, the Buraidah Dates Carnival saw sales reach nearly SR3.2 billion ($85 million), with over 2,000 vehicles transporting dates daily. The event welcomed more than 800,000 visitors, cementing its role as a key driver of agriculture tourism and local economy.
