Plus: Japanese Dominance in Women’s Golf, Global Tournament Highlights
GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA — AUGUST 2025
Cameron Young finally ended his drought on the PGA Tour with a commanding victory at the Wyndham Championship, firing a 2-under 68 to finish at 22-under 258, tying the tournament scoring record and winning by six shots.
The win marks Young's first PGA Tour title after seven runner-up finishes, and it makes him the 1,000th recognized winner on the PGA Tour — a milestone that dates all the way back to Willie Park's win at the 1860 British Open.
🏆 Young Dominates Field with Birdie Blitz
Young seized control early with five consecutive birdies, building a nine-shot cushion. Although two late bogeys cost him a shot at breaking the tournament scoring record, he matched the record held by J.T. Poston (2019) and Henrik Stenson (2017).
"It’s been a long time coming," Young said after his win. "It feels even better to do it this way — wire-to-wire with total control."
