UAE Secures 13 Medals at IMMAF Youth World Championships in Al-Ain

 

AL-AIN, July 28, 2025 — The 6th edition of the IMMAF Youth World Championships came to a successful close in Al-Ain, UAE, with the host nation adding another medal on the final day to end the tournament with a total of 13 medals across gold, silver, and bronze.

This year’s championship, held from July 21 to 27, marked the largest and most competitive youth tournament in the history of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF). More than 1,000 young athletes from 60 countries competed across four youth divisions.


🏆 Ukraine Crowned Overall Champion

At the conclusion of the event, Ukraine was declared the overall champion, followed by England in second place and Tajikistan in third. Winning teams were celebrated during the closing ceremony, which also honored key individuals and partners who contributed to the event’s success.


🇦🇪 UAE’s Growing MMA Legacy

The UAE national youth team made a significant impact by securing 13 medals, reflecting the country's ongoing investment in youth sports and technical training.

Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al-Dhaheri, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation and Chairman of the MMA Committee, expressed pride in both the event and the athletes:

“This championship highlights the global confidence in the UAE’s ability to host major sporting events. It also shows the strength and discipline of our youth athletes, who embody our nation’s sporting spirit.”


🏟️ Event Organization and Support

The championship was organized by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation in partnership with the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation. It was held under the patronage of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

Saleh Mohamed Al-Geziry, Director General for Tourism at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, emphasized the event's impact:

“The growing popularity of combat sports in Abu Dhabi showcases our commitment to athletic excellence. Hosting this championship in Al-Ain strengthens our status as a global hub for world-class sporting events.”

Hosting the IMMAF Youth World Championships for the first time in Al-Ain not only spotlighted local talent but also elevated the UAE’s reputation on the international sports stage.
